Battle of Stono Ferry

My family, on my maternal grandmother's side, has a rich history.  My eighth great grandparents, Daniel and Margaret Tetsche (anglicized to Teachey), were German protestants recruited by Great Britain's Queen Anne and among the founding families of New Bern, NC. Their grandson, and my sixth great uncle, Daniel Teachey, was a lieutenant in the Duplin County Militia during the American Revolution.  He and his unit traveled to the Low Country and on June 20th, 1779 he was wounded in the knee by British troops in the Patriot defeat at the battle of Stono Ferry. He left behind a detailed account of the militia's movements from North Carolina to the Stono Ferry, even recording crossing Caw Caw Swamp.
